IslamOnline, to their enormous credit, have carried a Live Dialogue with our brother Yousef from the StraightWay Foundation. I congratulate him for getting across such important messages, may Allah reward him abundantly.
“Gay” and Muslim: Beyond Condemnation
See also this dialogue with Dr. Mamdouh El-Adl, a psychiatrist.
You can`t say all Muslims are gay and you can`t say their are some gay Muslims. At the end of the day they might be gay Muslim but their`s nothing against it,if theirs nothing against white(No affence) gay`s,then their should be nothing against gay Muslims.
Dear Stacey,
In short, what we say is that no matter who you are, you should strive to stay within the limits of what God has instructed. According to the Islamic teachings (in the Qur’an and Sunnah), homosexual acts are completely forbidden.
I have a question. How does one subscribe to all of the prescripts set forth in the Holy Qur’an, yet suffer SSA?
I wish to follow the Holy Qur’an, yet find that I would not be welcome into the brotherhood of Islam because of my SSA.
Whatever happended to “Allah, the Benificent, the Merciful”?
I did NOT choose to be SSA. Yet, because I am thus afflicted, I’m not welcome in Muslim society.
How do any of you deal with this?. Wish to remain holy and pious, regrding Islam — but find the prescript against SSA less than contempoorary nor does it follow the same star we are born under, nor follow the paths in life that Allah gave us. And I firmly believe that Allah has chosen our invidivual destinies for us to follow, whether homosexual, bisexual or other.
Trouble with this issue. Help. Thanks. Yusef Monsouri.
Dear Yusef,
If you are genuinely wishing to live an Islamic life, I’m ready to help with answers to your questions in sha’ Allah.
But I have cause to doubt, since you posted a second comment (too abusive to approve) which claims that the Qur’an was written by a man. So perhaps you need to resolve some more basic personal conflicts before embarking on this journey.
